3 NIGERIAN ANIMATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO!

Animation is a wonderful thing. For years the likes of Disney and Pixar have captured the hearts of millions through the stories and adventures they worked so passionately to bring alive. Nigeria is on a mission to capture a few hearts of it’s own, and leading the charge are some of it’s best and brightest.

Even so nothing worth it has ever come cheaply and with the numerous animation firms in the country doing their very best to get on the map one can expect that there would be some pretty impressive stuff on the way. Here are 3 Nigerian produced animations that you should totally be looking forward to.

MALIKA: WARRIOR QUEEN

Youneek studios have been quite busy to say the least. For the past few years they have seen success after success releasing thrilling and captivating graphic novels that have captured the attention of the global audience and they clearly have no intentions of ending things there.

Late July last year they released the trailer for their most ambitious project yet, an animated series titled Malika: Warrior Queen. The series is obviously based on the graphic novel of the same name and fans simply cannot wait to feast their eyes on this awesome piece when it gets out.

GUARDIANS OF ARAZU

Upnext is guardians of Arazu. The crew at Dabia Pixels have been working on this for a while now. Ever since the first trailer dropped in March 2017 fans have anxiously awaited it’s release and for good reason. Guardians of Arazu seems connected to an earlier animated feature titled “Mark of Uru” and though Mark of Uru had a few hiccups it was quite fun to watch. The best part is Guardians of Arazu seems poised to fix all that. In the end all we can do is wait patiently and hope to see the full movie on our screens soon!

DAWN OF THUNDER

Last but most certainly not least is Komotion Studio’s Dawn of thunder. Based on the Yuroba mythological god of thunder Shango, this is a banger that everyone absolutely must see. Promising a ride no one can refuse our only hope is that it is released sooner than later!
