Superman as a character is a household name. No normal person should say that they haven’t heard the name. He’s one of the first superheroes ever made and is a character known to be overpowered in every sense of the word.

A lot of people view superman as a character that is “The perfect hero” just as he is portrayed, that could not be further from the truth.

HE HAS WAY TOO MANY STUPID POWERS

Firstly, let’s discuss the fact that Superman as a character has too many powers. From super breathing to super looking, super aging breath, super kissing, hypnosis, telekinesis and more, it appears Superman has an array of very stupid powers, some that make you sit down and think “Did someone actually sit down and create such a power?”.

Take for example the Super kissing ability; how possible is it for Superman to apply such an ability in fights? Does he just run up to Someone like Lex Luthor and give em a big kiss? Well, not unless he wants Lois to hunt him to the ends of the Earth.

HE IS TOO OVERPOWERED

People likes powerful characters, but what happens when you make your character too strong?  Lemme answer that question; You get Superman :(.

If you ask a group of normal people whether or not they believe Superman is strong, it wouldn’t be strange for a number of them to claim, with full confidence that he is the strongest.

This is an opinion based on the way Superman has been portrayed to the General public: “A superhuman that beats everything in his path for the sake of justice”, it just doesn’t get any cornier than that.

It is a rather well-known fact to comic fans that Superman is by no means the strongest character or Superhero in DC Comics, but it isn’t something a normal person would believe when told based on the fact that they’ve only been shown the good side of Superman, which has given him this false sense of godhood in their minds.

Well I don’t blame some people. I mean, there was that whole god thing with Superman Prime that he did when he stayed in the sun for a long time but I don’t wanna talk about that.

HE’S A MORTAL, YET HE IS IMMORTAL

Is Superman a mortal? Of course he is. Then why doesn’t he stay dead 😦

Comic fans hold your tongues cause I’m gonna be talking about the problem with why Superman is actually a mortal who’s immortal.

As I mentioned above, Superman is a character that gets killed (Hey, its comics. Deal with it.) and revived. resurrected? whatever you wanna call it. This also contributes to the previous point made about him being an overpowered character.

Its actually quite annoying to see a character who is deemed a mortal die time and time again and still be able to get up like nothing’s happening and this seems to be a recurring thing with Superman.

It actually contributes to the concept of him being a trashy character. I mean if you’re gonna set rules, at least follow them yourself.

HE DOESN’T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE’S THE LAST KRYPTONIAN

Superman is the last kryptonian. I find it hard to believe that anyone who was in his position would just be fighting crime across both the world and galaxy without a care in the world if they knew they were an endangered species.

This is something that I believe should be on Superman’s mind a lot of the time as he should think of what would happen to the world if he was ever to retire or die (We all know that’s not gonna happen anytime soon) and he should also think of preserving his species.

I know he does indeed have at least 1 child with lois at a certain point in time but I felt it was something that happened a little too late.

It is possible that because he knew that his cousin Kara (Supergirl) was alive and kickin’  on Earth that he felt no urgent need to procreate as he realized he was not the only person on Earth who could help with the preservation of his species but looking at the way Kara acts, its possible she doesn’t pay it as much mind as he does.

These are some of the things I believe make Superman a trashy character. I get that the character is incredibly popular and I’m not saying that’s wrong, its just that these were the things that I felt were flaws with the design of the character.

Well, i guess it isn’t all bad. I mean, if we didn’t have all these the superman that’s known and loved, today would be a completely different world.
